Cardboard Print Project
Published 1-15-20
For our in-class projects around December and January, we were tasked with creating a printing plate from cardboard based on our "spirit animals". I took a little online quiz and got a deer. I was originally going to go with a full on deer, but switched to a deer-woman hybrid to make the sketching easier for myself. I've made printing plates in the past, just not with cardboard. I used an x-acto knife to carve away parts of the cardboard. I used green ink, but the ink did not like coming off of the plate. I personally think that the plate itself is much better than the actual prints. I made 3 prints in total. Below are some concepts and the plate.
