Concentration 1
Published 3/2/19
Here is my first concentration piece of this semester. This is Duke of Willowgreene's bedroom. I wanted to base the entire palace on the Palace of Versailles in France, and this was the closest I could get without going overboard and complicated. In order to make this piece, I first sketched it out on paper with a ruler in order to place the objects where I wanted them. Then I took a picture and transferred it to the computer. I used Autodesk Sketchbook's perspective tools in order to trace over the sketch and then I proceeded to change things as needed. Autodesk Sketchbook has a lot of nice tools that give nice straight, smooth lines. I used a free hand watercolor brush to create the painting. Since I used the Palace of Versailles as inspiration, for the wallpaper I took a picture of some of the wall paper in the Queen's Chamber and used a symmetry tool to trace over and create the wallpaper that you see, then I warped it to put it into perspective. I also used the symmetry and kaleidoscope tools in order to make the chandelier and the rug. I think the room is both simple and elegant and I really enjoyed making this piece. I am especially very happy with the wallpaper. |
